Privacy Policy

In short: APEX runs entirely on your device. There are no user accounts and no developer servers. Your videos, routes and riding data are never uploaded anywhere, and the developer can neither see nor store them.
What the app creates and keeps on your device
- Video and audio from the camera and microphone, while you are recording.
- GPS location while recording, used for your route, speed, distance and elevation, shown on the HUD and burned into exported video.
- Rider profile you fill in yourself, such as a display name, motorcycle model and a photo you pick from your gallery.
- Riding statistics, achievements, quests and app settings.
All of it stays in the app's own storage on your device.
What the developer collects
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking across apps or websites.
What leaves your device, and when
1. Maps
When a map is shown, the app fetches map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers (tile.openstreetmap.org). Those requests reveal your IP address and the rough area being viewed to that provider, under the OpenStreetMap Foundation's own policies. No video or route data is sent with them.
2. Pro purchases
Handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and the subscription status. The developer never receives or stores your payment details.
3. When you share or export
Videos, GPX files and backup files leave the app only when you choose to share them, and only to the app or service you select at that moment, which is then governed by that destination's policies.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Camera — to record video, the app's core purpose.
- Microphone — to record audio into that video.
- Location (while in use) — to measure speed and distance and draw your route. The app does not request background location and does not track you while you are not using it.
- Photos — only when you choose a rider profile picture.
- Files — only when you pick a backup file to restore.
Retention and deletion
Data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual clips in the app, and uninstalling the app permanently removes everything. Because no copy exists on any server, deleted data cannot be recovered — use the in-app backup before uninstalling if you want to keep it.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
Any revision updates the effective date above and is published at this same address. Changes affecting how data is handled will also be announced inside the app.
